Purchasing Manager

Job Summary Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing of raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies in a FAR/DFAR compliant environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors or purchasing department employees Primary Responsibilities   Leads the purchasing department in day to day activity while constructing and managing mid and long term plans for the department. Provide leadership, direction and oversight to the purchasing department employees. Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures. Involved in training current and new employees Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Assists in facilitating the resolution of technical issues, between Esterline and  suppliers Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports. Ensure that the Supply Chain operations contribute to the profitability of the organization by reducing total costs, enhancing processes that will contribute to overall improvement and waste elimination Ongoing process development and management for consistent interaction between Esterline and the strategic suppliers Supplier/facility qualification Supplier Management. Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged by individuals in higher positions. Understand and live by the Esterline Operating System. Qualifications   Experience with CPSR audits and protocol Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements and application in the purchasing process Knowledge of ERP systems.  Syteline experience a plus In depth understanding of Supply Chain performance measurement tools and management. Excellent negotiation skills,Knowledge of Lean Enterprise Systems. Familiarity with Small Business requirements and FAR. Excellent communication skills, including written and oral presentations. Strong supervisory and people skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate Company needs.  Some travel may be required.   Esterline Competencies   Demonstrate ability in the Esterline competencies as an employee: customer focus, ethics and values, problem solving, integrity and trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action-oriented, composure and values diversity. Education/Previous Experience Requirements   Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University and 10 years related/progressive experience in a DOD contractor environment. Formal negotiation classes a plus U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
