Full-TimeJob SummaryThe Safety Specialist will work, primarily as an administrator, with all company departments to help properly identify and manage the plant's safety needs.
Under the direction of the Department management, will help with the design and development of plant safety programs to be implemented throughout the plant to ensure a safe working environment for all Armtec employees.
The Safety Specialist will support the Safety Department in managing outside contractors, preparing project reports on significant safety issues, and serving as the Safety Department representative on a number of in-house teams.
Must have an appreciation for the role of safety in a production plant, and be able to read and understand relevant local, state federal, and Department of Defense regulations and requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Safety Specialist will serve as administrative support to EH&S management, in the review of shop planning and operations; investigating incidents; recommending procedure or equipment changes; participating in design reviews; conducting safety awareness training; and audits and inspections.
Provide imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of safety related problems involving the conventional utilization of safety techniques.
Review all present and proposed plant operations and compare them against health and safety rules and regulations.
Recommend safety procedures to eliminate hazards and reduce accident potential.
Serve as department representative on program and continuous improvement teams.
Stay current with all planned uses of computer software and control techniques applicable to safety.
Back up for EH&S Management as needed.
Will serve as an alternate Safety Technician as needed.
Will help facilitate Emergency Response training.
Will help develop master schedules and costs for proposals.
Works closely with all other departments on daily project reviews.
Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
Understand and live by Armtec's ethics and business conduct policies.

Education & Professional Work Experience RequirementsRequires a BS degree in related discipline, preferably safety and/or Engineering.
Must have 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible position(s) in safety or safety related activates in a production plant.
Emergency Medical Response (EMT) CertificationMust have good organizational skills; be able to work with minimal supervision; be an effective communicator (verbal and written) and have knowledge of software systems.
In additions, must be able to work with/through others to get the job done.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
